One day in the life of an alcoholic person

Alexandre  Bordugov

Every alcoholic follows his own way. Some get faster and others drag their suffering. There is only one end: man becomes slave of his alcoholic addiction.

I would like to describe everything about one day of a notorious alcoholic. There is a proverb that says: the more drinks were available on the eve; the worse will turn out the following day. Drinking decently with friends on the eve, then having some more beers and shots of vodka on the way back home seems little. Though back home you will feel dreadful. Then you reach quickly bed but the following day is already pointing at the horizon, meaning time to go to work. You raise your head from the pillow and everything is shaking inside of you as if striving for leaving were impossible.

Our Russian state cares a lot for alcoholics. We have around the clock vicinity shops, kiosks and pubs selling alcoholic drinks. The hangover problem does not exist. You start in the morning with a dose of 150 grams of vodka and life becomes easier and happier. Such easy going and cheerful sentiment only lasts for two hours and gives place to the heavy and badly needed next 100 to 200 grams of vodka. Work is work. You have to be patient until the end of your working hours.

My friends, with whom I drank on the eve, also do not feel too well. The old friendship gets consolidated again. And we can keep on drinking for days, sometimes for over a week as long as your heath and pocket can stand the pace. Even to care for bread is more difficult than providing for more vodka. During such period, there is nothing to do against this excess of drinking. Only one objective counts: how to pursue drinking. At home you start to dispute with your wife and it goes on day after day. When you finally get out of this tunnel and your mind becomes clearer again, you start to understand what you are really doing and at that is the crucial point.

We I came to “The Optimalnist” for help; I understood my situation at the first session as well as the meaning of alcoholic dependence and its sorry effects to the brain. The method G. A. Shichko is an analytical work on human intellect. You overcome your dependence problem by yourself. If it is too difficult to get rid of the spirituous poison, you should not be ashamed to ask for help. I can well remember the words of a Russian pilot from my working group saying that he wanted to die as a convinced sober person and not being remembered as an alcoholic.
